From Where Quality Comes First...
Apr. 14th, 2005 04:31 pmSomeday mother will die and I'll get the money... Mom leans down and says, "My sentiments exactly, you son of a bitch."
Me: *scanning*
Her: *lifs her son up* My son's misbehaving and I don't believe in spanking him. Will you spank him for me?
Me: I'm sorry, ma'am, I can't do that - I could get fired for it.
Her: SOME HELP YOU ARE!
Don't ask me what I want it for, if you don't want to pay some more.
Me: *scanning her one item, a 20 oz bottle of coke* Okay, that'll be $1.37.
Her: No, it's not, it's $1.29.
Me: Ma'am, soda is one of those foods that is taxed.
Her: But I'm white!
Me: Ma'am, I don't see how the color of the skin matters in how you are taxed or not.
Her: *points to monitor* See, it says "B" next to the price. That means that only black people have to pay tax on it.
Me: Ma'am, this is not the 1960s South. Everyone is taxed equally.
Her: Fine, if you won't waive the tax, I'm not buying it.
Me: I'm sorry, but I'm not permitted to waive the tax. You have a GOOD day! *widesmile*
