In any case, Friday we had a person come through with 8 donuts and 4 sticky buns. Now, donuts cost 49¢ each, or $4.99 a dozen, while sticky buns cost 99¢ each or $3.99 for a prepacked six, $6.99 for a prepacked dozen. Last week we also had a coupon in our ads for $1.00 off of a dozen donuts.

So I open the box and take a peek, and ring him up for 8 donuts and 4 sticky buns.

Me: Okay, that'll be $7.88...
Him: No, that's $3.99.
Me: Sir, I can't count a sticky bun as a donut.
Him: But I buy for $3.99 all the time!
Me: Okay, let me get my manager.
*manager comes over*
Manager, to him: I'm afraid he's right -- sticky buns are not donuts.
Him: Whatever, I'll go to another cashier who knows how I buy. *dashes off with donuts*

Okay, you don't say in front of the manager that you're going to go to a dumber cashier. That's the quickest way to get the manager to tell all cashiers.
